Demolition

Metropolitan Demolitions Pty Ltd has built a reputation for successfully completing the most difficult of demolition works – high rise buildings in Sydney’s central business district.

We use the latest technologies to provide demolition strategies that are safe, efficient, environmentally friendly and optimised to meet the budgetary requirements of our clients.

We stand behind every job we complete and take pride in the reputation we have built as a leading player in the field of demolition.

As an unrestricted licensed demolition contractor we have provided quality demolition services for:

  • Sydney CBD high rise buildings
  • heritage buildings
  • shopping centres
  • hospitals
  • education/university buildings
  • commercial, residential and aged care facilities
  • oil refineries
  • power stations
  • sports stadiums
  • grain silos
  • large industrial sites and buildings
  • bridges and other forms of infrastructure.

Some projects only require strip out and the removal of furniture and fittings while others demand the demolition of internal elements or of a building façade with the main structure remaining.

In 2016 we underwent independent external certification to the Australian Green Building Council requirements and was awarded compliance verification against the Construction & Demolition Waste Reporting Criteria as demolition waste contractor. We are recognised as Australia’s first Greenstar accredited demolition contractor.

We are committed to resource recovery and diverting waste from landfill. Recovery often involves selection of easily recovered materials such as timber, concrete, brick, metal, tiles and building plant and equipment. These recovered materials are then directed for reprocessing, recycling, resale or reuse where commercially viable. In most instances some recovered material is also reused for as part of our demolition process for example carpet.

We are proud to have played a major role in saving some of Sydney’s heritage listed buildings including the fire-damaged George Patterson Building in George Street, Sydney currently known as the Establishment Hotel.
